Kinkajou
02:58
|
|||
It’s a kinkajou,
Betcha didn’t knew!
It comes out at night
When the moon is viewed.
It lives in the trees and it likes to climb;
Holds on with its tail all the time!
They don’t live in your yard (front or back)
They’re from the jungle, how ‘bout that?
It’s a kinkajou,
Betcha didn’t knew!
Its body’s one foot long
But its tail is two!
It’s got great big eyes that like to leer
And a real long tongue that’s kinda weird!
It’s a kinkajou,
Betcha didn’t knew!
It likes to eat plants
And nectar too!
Prefers to keep mostly all alone
In it’s specialized little forest zone!
They’ve got a furry coat (it’s quite brown!)
And they make such odd noise, such a sound!
Kinkajou,
Betcha didn’t knew!
Its body’s one foot long
But its tail is two!
It’s got great big eyes that like to leer
And a real long tongue that’s kinda weird!
It’s a kinkajou,
Betcha didn’t knew!
Its body’s one foot long
But its tail is two!
It’s got great big eyes that like to leer
And a real long tongue that’s kinda weird!
It’s a kinkajou,
And now you knew!
That they play and have fun
Just like you!

Kookaburra
02:46
|
|||
I’ve been hiking in the forests
Of Australi-a.
I am here just as a tourist,
But I do intend to stay.
Say, can you hear the birdy calling?
That noise is so happy and gay.
Hey, I could take you for a lark, bird.
Kookaburra, laugh away!
Kookaburra won’t you laugh?
Kookaburra won’t you laugh?
Kookaburra won’t you laugh all day, all day?
Kookaburra won’t you laugh?
Kookaburra won’t you laugh?
Kookaburra won’t you laugh all day, all day?
Who’s been making jokes to these birds?
Who’s been making jokes to the Kookaburra?
Who’s been making jokes to these birds?
Down Under where they ha-ha!
The kookaburra laughs everyday.

Wasp Vs. Bee
04:46
|
|||
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
One is mean, the other’s friendly
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
They both buzz high in the trees.
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
One is mean, the other’s friendly
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
Wasp or bee?
On nice warm days when you go outside
And lay in the grass, take a bike for a ride,
There’s always one thing that can ruin your day:
A flash of yellow and black and buzzing coming your way!
But one thing that’s important to keep in mind
When a bee or a wasp has got you in a bind
Is to figure out which bug is which
Before you decide whether to run or squish!
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
One is mean, the other’s friendly
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
They both buzz high in the trees.
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
One is mean, the other’s friendly
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
Wasp or bee?
Wasps are mean and they like to attack.
They’re skinny and clad in their yellow & black!
They’ve got four wings that they use to fly and they’re,
Set to sting at any time!
But in the winter there’s no need to fear;
They like to hibernate at the end of the year.
But when the snow melts, they awake,
And search for a place for a hive to make.
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
One is mean, the other’s friendly
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
They both buzz high in the trees.
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
One is mean, the other’s friendly
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
Wasp or bee?
Bees have stingers, make no mistake,
Just leave ‘em alone, and you won’t ache.
They’d rather drink nectar, help flowers pollenate and make
Honey in the hives where they congregate.
They’re happy little bumbling balls of fuzz
With itsy bitsy wings that make a loud buzz.
So if you see one, please let it thrive
‘Cause without bees, you wouldn’t be alive!
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
One is mean, the other’s friendly
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
They both buzz high in the trees.
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
One is mean, the other’s friendly
Wasp or bee, wasp or bee?
Wasp or bee?
If you see a buzzing bug, take another look
Before you choose to squash it with a book.
The best thing you can do to avoid a sting
Is to leave a bug alone, let it do it’s thing!
Try to keep away from their hive or nest;
If you start to snoop, you’ll cause distress.
Just leave them to buzz and soon they’ll leave,
And everyone’ll be as happy as can be!

Mudpuppy
02:50
|
|||
If you find yourself wandering by a stream,
You might catch some luck, see something not as it seems.
Stop, lean down close, get a good gander
At this aquatic salamander,
Mudpuppy!
And when speaking ‘bout mudpup, don’t let the name belie,
They ain’t no dirty dog, that much is a lie!
‘Though one lives in the muck, sleeps in the mire,
Throw it a bone, you’ll just earn its ire!
Mudpuppy!
Slime away, puppy!
Mudpuppy, you so mucky!
Mucky, mucky, mudpuppy! (etc…)
On the side of its head, its got feather-dusters
‘Though they’re really just gills that are clumped and clustered.
Pups always make sure to keep their skin slimy,
‘Though they can’t really help it; their home is quite grimy!
Mudpuppy!
Since they eat in the darkness, they got a keen nose
To catch all the snails and worms, then doze.
‘Though they like to sleep long, they ain’t no yuppies,
Just a bunch of wonderful aquatic mudpuppies!
Mudpuppy!

Orangutan
02:48
|
|||
His orange fur is like a cape.
And in the trees, he’ll swing, he’ll drape.
Yes, this here creature is an ape!
Orangutans are not that bland,
They’re actually quite smart.
They have rules, they hand-make tools,
And they even make art.
Learning’s what they do,
Seeking out what’s new.
Just like me and you.
His orange fur is like a cape.
And in the trees, he’ll swing, he’ll drape.
Yes, this here creature is an ape!
Their brain is not their only brawn;
They also are quite tough.
They have great arms that are quite long,
But they don’t look that buff!
Climbing’s what they do,
Seeking out what’s new.
Just like me and you.
His orange fur is like a cape.
And in the trees, he’ll swing, he’ll drape.
Yes, this here creature is an ape!
Sadly, for these splendid apes,
The future looks quite grim.
Their habitats are changing shape
As the forest grows more thin.
What is there to do
To see these creatures through?
It could be up to you.

Kiwi
02:32
|
|||
‘Though small in size,
The kiwi takes charge.
Like all birds, it lays an egg,
Yet this bird's is incredibly large.
While the chicken egg is small
And can fit in the palm of your hand,
A kiwi egg would require two;
It is massive and it is grand!
Itty, and bitty, and
Pretty, little,
Silly birdies.
They like
To sneak ‘round,
And they don’t
Make too much sound, no.
They’re on
The prowl, and
Don’t fly like
The other fowl!
Though the kiwi is so small,
She’s admired by almost all
The people of New Zealand,
O, Kiwis!
Kiwis are omnivores;
Almost anything they will eat
From bugs to seeds, these birds
Will chow on what they find with their beak.
The kiwi are a treasure
To native New Zealand;
And to protect them, together
The people all will band.
Itty, and bitty, and
Pretty, little,
Silly birdies.
They like
To sneak ‘round,
And they don’t
Make too much sound, no.
They’re on
The prowl, and
Don’t fly like
The other fowl!
Though the kiwi is so small,
She’s admired by almost all
The people of New Zealand,
O, Kiwis!

Whale Shark
02:58
|
|||
There’s a whale shark, name is Abby,
Who swims in the ocean so blue.
She wants more chums, yes she has few…
Oh, how hard can it
Be for her to fit
In the ocean so huge, huge, huge, huge?
She has a large heart,
And she’ll do her part
To finally find friends!
Sharks are mean ‘cause she eats no meat;
Whales don’t care ‘cause she breathes no air;
Though big, other whale sharks are rare!
Oh, how hard can it
Be for her to fit
In the ocean so huge, huge, huge, huge?
She has a large heart
And she’ll do her part,
To finally find friends!
Poor girl, hopeless, aimlessly swims.
While sad, Abby casts her head down;
There she sees fish attached to her!
Now through water they glide together!
Oh, how light can this
Life seem when one’s bliss
Is brought out from one’s friends, friends, friends, friends!
Blessed and beatific,
Wholly pacific,
Abby and allies swim, swim swim swim swim swim swim…

Turtle Vs. Tortoise
02:51
|
|||
Listen to the tale I tell
About reptiles with a shell:
Turtles and tortoises abound;
One likes water, the other ground.
Both are old and long they live.
They’ve many lessons to give
Such as patience and caution,
Virtues used very often.
Shelled reptile
Got a style
Like argyle;
Diversatile!
Toits, aged with pride,
Take life in stride.
They have tough hide,
Worldwide!
Turtles have shells that are flat.
In water, they’re acrobats.
They often possess webbed limbs
Or flippers to help them swim.
Tortoises have shells like domes.
They all call the desert “home”.
Upon their feet, they have claws
To dig and dig without paws.
Shelled reptile
Got a style
Like argyle;
Diversatile!
Toits, aged with pride,
Take life in stride.
They have tough hide,
Worldwide!
“I like toitles”
I’ve heard it said.
But toitoises
Are just as goid.
Turtles, tortoises too,
Always go so slow, easy, and true.

Lyrebird
03:24
|
|||
In the forest where the dark is dire
Lives a bird that is quite the crier.
Upon the ground, it just walks around
Teaching us all why it’s a liar.
The lyrebird has a special gimmick.
In fact, it’s called the world’s best mimic!
It can sound like anything at all.
The lyrebird’s range is quite terrific.
From chain-saws, hammers, and loud car alarms,
This trickster’s pranks give off quite a charm.
And if you gave it long enough time,
This bird could sound like an entire farm!
So when you next walk out in the woods,
And you hear strange noises, bad or good,
See if you spot a long harp-like tail,
If you do, there a lyrebird might have stood!

Gila Monster
02:46
|
|||
In the deserts under the mountains
Where the sun bakes the ground,
It is here that the critters are fewer
Yes, they seldom abound.
But there lives a lizard named “Monster”
For its poisonous bite.
He wears a jacket of beady scales
As he sleeps day and night.
No necesitas temper Gila Monster!
You do not need to fear the Gila Monster!
No necesitas temper Gila Monster!
You do not need to fear the Gila Monster!
The gila monster mostly keeps away
As if it were a rule.
Yes, with the blazing sun above,
He stays underground (to keep cool!)
‘Though he has a venomous bite,
We have nothing to fear.
If he chomps, you will not die,
Though you might cry tears!
No necesitas temper Gila Monster!
You do not need to fear the Gila Monster!
No necesitas temper Gila Monster!
You do not need to fear the Gila Monster!
No necesitas temper Gila Monster!
You do not need to fear the Gila Monster!
No necesitas temper Gila Monster!
You do not need to fear the Gila Monster!
